Anna did not understand the value of yoga till later on in life. As a young girl she was always competing, whether in track, dance, or cheerleading. She loved pushing her body to its limits but never took the time to nurture it. She would participate in yoga classes but only as a way to help strengthen her flexibility.
But life slowly began to draw her more and more to her mat and in a world full of noise and busyness she found peace and surrender, a place to be vulnerable and humble. “I love how every experience on my mat is different, sometimes I feel powerful and strong, other moments I’m falling apart and crying.” Yoga slowly became a way of life, a way to deal with anxiety and loss, a refuge.
Anna is a graduate from Appalachian State University and is currently a Physical Therapist Student at GTCC. She received her Yoga teacher certification from Ganesha’s Yoga and Wellness School in December of 2019. She resides in Asheboro with her 3 children. She loves hiking, being outdoors, running and anything adventurous. Anna loves many styles of yoga, she loves vinyasa and how the movements can flow together like a dance but also enjoys a yin yoga, where she can find stillness and surrender to time.
